I-Research

International Research Information System (I-RESEARCH)
The Dutch government through NWO, The Netherlands National Research Council, has taken the initiative to develop a global information system for Research Councils called I-Research.

I-RESEARCH supports the broad based demand for global development of effective Research Programming and Research Strategies through synergistic initiatives. I-RESEARCH will provide for research management tools at the micro level, including but not limited to knowledge profiling of researchers allowing for effective referee finding, proposal comparison, project management and evaluation, etc. Increased efficiency in research management will open the door for effective Research Programming and Synergistic Integrated Research Policies at the macro level.

I-RESEARCH was initiated to maximize the effectiveness of finding information available on a global scale concerning referees and their Knowledge Profiles. It will form an international network of National research institutes, sharing information on both national research and scientists. I-RESEARCH uses an innovative, patented technology, which allows each participating organization to continue using its existing system. Each I-RESEARCH Partner will manage its own domain in the system, which guarantees full control of the I-RESEARCH Partner's data.
