NWO Chemical Sciences

Mission
The NWO Division of Chemical Sciences (CW) aims to stimulate excellent, innovative research of a fundamental, strategic and application-oriented nature. CW achieves this by, among other things, sponsoring research projects and programmes and organising scientific gatherings.

CW promotes research in the following focal areas:

  • Chemistry in relation to biological/medical sciences
  • Chemistry in relation to physics/materials
  • Chemistry in relation to technology/sustainability

ESF Exploratory Workshops - 2008 Call for Proposals, 7 maart 2008. Each year the ESF supports approximately 50 Exploratory Workshops across all scientific domains. The focus of the scheme is on projects aiming to open up new directions in research or to explore emerging research fields with potential impact on new developments in science. Proposals should demonstrate the potential  for initiating follow-up research activities and/or developing future collaborative actions. Interdisciplinary topics are encouraged.
ESF Exploratory Workshops awards are intended for small, interactive and output-oriented discussion meetings of maximum 30 participants and up to a maximum value of 15000 EUR. Awards are for workshops to be held in the calendar year 2009 (1 February - 31 December). Deadline for receipt of proposals: 29 April 2008 (16:00 CET)., Read more   

3rd ERA-Chemistry Flash Conference, 16 januari 2008.  "Carbohydrates at the Interfaces of Biology, Medicine and Materials Science"
Under the auspices of the Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering and Technology, Ireland will host the Third ERA Chemistry “Flash” Conference entitled “Carbohydrates at the Interfaces of Biology,Medicine and Materials Science” in Killarney, Co.
