Stress and Mental Health (EuroSTRESS)

EUROCORES staat voor European Science Foundation Collaborative Research Programmes Scheme. Een EUROCORE is een subsidieregeling van de European Science Foundation (ESF). De ESF gebruikt dit instrument om multinationale samenwerking in Europa te bevorderen. De ESF telt 78 leden (lidorganisaties) uit 30 verschillende landen: academies, onderzoeksorganisaties en subsidieorganisaties zoals NWO.

Within the NWO-organization several research councils are involved in the field of EuroSTRESS.
The NWO (ZonMw, MaGW and ALW) contribution will amount to a max. of K€ 1,000 (4 – 5 individual projects) including the contribution to networking and coordination activities by the ESF. This will cover the expenses of about 4 to 5 individual projects (4 yr PhD or a two-three year post doc project with a maximum of € 10.000/yr expenses and a total of € 5000 travel expenses). This EUROCORES will be linked to the NWO thematic programme Brian and Cognition.

Outline proposals are to be submitted by 21 May noon to the ESF.

General remarks

NWO will only fund individual projects that are of top-quality (receiving judgement “excellent”) NWO will fund the projects in the Netherlands according to national funding conditions. The costs of an individual project amounts to approximately € 210,000 (salary of PhD-student for 4 years or salary of post doc position for 3 years, including a bench fee for the total period of around € 30,000)
